National finalist in Britains Star Sausage Competiton

Well, Matthews have done it again! On Monday 1st November we travelled to the Butchers Hook & Cleaver pub just off Smithfiield Market to join the other finalists from around the country who had entered the "Britains Star Sausage" competition. Top judges included celebrity sausage affecionado and Striclty Come Dancing Judge Craig Revel Horwood. Competition was hot as the standard has raised yet again. The standard, since we started these competitions has been raised enormously and whereas it used to be easy to win with something good, it now has to be exceptional. Just getting to the final is an achievment in itself, the entries this year amounted to over 500 and there we were, in the final 12. After all the excitement, we came second, with a nice certificate and our photo taken with Craig, who, despite his reputation, really is a nice guy, good fun to be with but, scrupliousy honest and straightforward. The phot will be blogged when BPEX send it to me. Watch this space.
